What is KD Learning?
KD Learning is an education and research-based organization committed to centering Black voices and transforming learning through culturally sustaining education. Founded by Dr. Kenesma D. John, KD Learning bridges research and practice by developing educational resources, professional learning experiences, research initiatives, and community programs that strengthen learning and belonging. Our work is organized around four pillars: Research & Evaluation, Curriculum & Learning Design, Professional Learning, and Community Learning. Through research, curriculum development, workshops, continuing education, consulting, books, and community-based initiatives, KD Learning partners with educators, schools, universities, organizations, families, and communities to create learning experiences that are culturally responsive, affirming, and impactful.
At the heart of KD Learning is a simple belief:
Knowledge should not only be studied—it should be used to strengthen people, transform learning, and build communities.

Knowledge. Development. Learning.
